DR. BERGLUND'S COMMENTS: Strangely enough, many people wonder why they would take a supplement that had hydrochloric acid in it if they already have indigestion, reflux or (what feels like) too much acid already. It's hard to go into here, but I recommend people try my HCL challenge if they want to test that theory. If they have too much stomach acid, giving them additional would obviously make them worse. However, if we do proper food allergy/sensitivity testing and eliminate problematic foods and then do the HCL challenge, many people find that they actually don't produce enough stomach acid. I know. It's weird.
